Mt Uncle Distillery prides itself on being Far North Queensland’s only rum producer dedicated in liberating the world from dull and boring rums. Our passion is to create the world’s best rums using the finest ingredients that reflect the life and stigma of Far North Queensland. Mt Uncle’s range of rums starts from the fermentation on site of freshly crushed Cairns Highland sugarcane juice, prized for its high flavour and mineral qualities as a result of being grown in rich red volcanic soil at altitude. The resulting ferment is then distilled three times in a copper pot still for ultimate purity and flavour. All water used in the production of Mt Uncle’s products is sourced from a deep volcanic spring which is rich in minerals and crystal clear.
Mt Uncle Iridium Gold Rum is an international multi-award winning rum fermented using locally sourced sugarcane syrup and aged for 5yrs in ex-red wine hogshead barrels. Rich and smooth tasting this rum will leave toffee apple on the pallet and a long lingering caramel finish. Named Best Pot Still Rum (under 5 yrs old) in the world in 2019 and 2020 at the World Rum Awards in London, it’s a favourite amongst rum aficionados, tipplers and… well, us.

Iridium Gold Rum is presented in a beautifully and elaborately decorated bottle, inspired by the unique elements which Far North Queensland is globally recognised for – its pristine Great Barrier Reef (the blue) and rainforest (the etching on the bottle).
